oh, dear hahvard. you have to have a different term to describe everything. to wit...
at everyone other college it's a: dorm.
at harvard it's a: house.
at everyone other college it's a: RA (resident assistant).
at harvard it's a: tutor.
at everyone other college it's a: TA (teaching assistant).
at harvard it's a: TF (teaching fellow).
at everyone other college it's a: recitation.
at harvard it's a: section.
at everyone other college it's a: minor.
and, as of yesterday, at harvard it's a: secondary field.
i already kinda got credit for hro extracurricular involvement through the GPA-protecting wonders of 93r (chamber music performance), but how bangin' would it be to have applied mathematics concentration, visual + environment studies secondary field on your degree? v. bangin'.

Recitation... I had discussions instead. Section was the term for which version of the class you got into (the larger classes had several sections) and discussion was the term for the actual class you attend with your GSI (graduate student instructor). The cafeteria was called the DC (dining commons) and some people referred to their dorms as "units." Then again, I went to school in California, so it's a whole different world out there!
